“Difficult Goodbyes” is a song about the struggle in moving on after learning the hard way to let go of what you love for new experiences and growth through chapters of life in the abandonment of negative perspective.
It was inspired by international travel and how one of the last steps in your trip is to exchange your currency back to your home country’s; Instead of exchanging USD to CAD, or Rupee’s to Yen the wish would be for the ability to exchange difficult goodbyes to hello here tomorrow with your best friends and loved ones where there were no borders or boundaries in the world.
How to change these difficult goodbyes,
To a hello here tomorrow.
I'd trade these difficult goodbyes,
For a hello here tomorrow.
Well it's about time that we realized every second we shared couldn't ever be fake,
Because everything real has an expiration date,
And you're on my mind,
And I've lost my mind for the last time….
I'd trade these difficult goodbyes,
For a hello here tomorrow.
I'd trade these difficult goodbyes,
For a hello here tomorrow.
And I’m,
Screaming out, screaming out,
A devil's offer...
I'm screaming out, screaming out,
For so much more,
Screaming out, screaming out,
A devil's offer,
A deal I can't ignore.
I won't take, I won’t save your sweet heart love,
I won’t make your half heart whole again,
I won’t take I won’t save your sweet heart love,
I won’t take, I won’t break it again,
I won’t take I won’t save your sweet heart love,
I won’t take, I won’t break it again,
I won’t take I won’t save your sweet heart love,
But I would do it all over again,
Before I lost my best friend.
And if there's anything in this world I would change,
I'd sing our favourite song with you again.
